Practice was overall pretty good this week. FRICKEN COLD though.

I have my cousin's wedding tonight. I'm excited. Free food. YES. lol j/k

HURON VALLEY COMPETITION TOMORROW!!! Might I remind you all, that if we don't make it to States, this is my last Marching Band competition EVER!! :( So EVERYONE should go and cheer us on. That'd be pimp.

I can't believe I just said 'that'd be pimp.' What is wrong with me? lol

And that's about it.

Gotta go get ready for the wedding. Yay.

And I'm listening to some pretty weird music. I guess that's what I get for putting Windows Media Player on random.. haha.

I need to burn some cds for the long ass ride to Plymouth Canton tomorrow. You'd think it wouldn't take that long to get there, but our oh-so intelligent bus drivers can never figure out how to properly read directions.

So I'm gonna burn a cd or two, and then head off to bed so that I'll be able to actually be awake tomorrow.

I'm in Graphic Arts right now. I don't know how I got onto LiveJournal since it's supposedly "inappropriate" and banned, but I did. AMAZING.

So I'm just chillin on LJ and checkin out some crap, cuz Mr. Martin's not here today and I don't have any new assignments til he gets here. I was playing Frogger earlier but that got kinda old. All the game sites are pretty boring. I'm out of things to do, basically.

Checked the weather forecast for Saturday and it's definately supposed to rain. Like 60% chance of rain actually. In Canton. So that'll be cool. NOT. I hate doing shows in the rain. And that'll be even cooler if it does cuz you know, PC has turf, right? And if it rains it'll be like one big slip-n-slide. Oh I'm really looking forward to it.. lol.

Speaking of PC, we perform at 5:30 and then awards are at 9:45. That will be sweet. I love having like a crapload of time to just hang out. I'm excited.

Our research papers are due November 17th. That's like, a month :(

Yeah I'm gonna go play Frogger again. I'm super bored. Adios.

I was really looking forward to this week of practice, since last week was really good, but idk about now. I hope we do really well this weekend. Lakeland is gonna be there. WOODHAVEN. L'Anse Creuse. I know they want to beat us. They're expecting it probably. So let's show 'em who's boss! Right? hehe. Wow, moving on...

I have to start my stupid 7 page research paper soon, for my Senior Project, and idk what I want to do it on. Any suggestions? I was thinking MAYBE mental disorders since I know a lot about them from Psychology. I'd have to pick just one I think, but still. OH and Mr. Druchniak said it has to be a social issue relating the community. WTF!? There are so many things you could write 7 pages about, but have nothing to do with the community. Totally ruins like, ladkgh;ladhgadkh. That's dumb. So yeah, gotta figure that out soon.

Hokay so. I have the house to myself this weekend since my family is going camping but I'm not because I am NOT missing on a show day. Especially one as fun as Plymouth Canton. So anyone wanna come over after the competition, or hang out or something? Yeah, let me know if you do. Cuz that would be awesome-o.

I gotta go do some of my Graphic Arts stuff before practice, so this is it for now.

Finished watching Rocky in English. Essay on it tomorrow with the sub. Exciting.

We found out in Marketing today that 95% of my class said Mr. Rebeka was the best teacher they'd ever had to date, me included. Triple w00t! haha.

Didn't go to school today. Went to the doctors. I have a throat infection or something. Not strep throat, but it feels exactly the same. Hurts like hell too. It hurts to eat, breathe, swallow, and talk. Fantastic, huh? So that's why I'm not at practice, and if I'm not feeling better tomorrow I'm not going to school. I know for a fact that I AM going to practice tomorrow though because if I don't, I have a feeling Kmet will say I can't march the show Saturday. I don't want that to happen. I'd be super pissed.

Me, Kayla, Ashley, and some other people were going to go to Slaughtered At Sundown on Friday after school, but now Kayla's mom won't let her drive out there, and Ashley has to work. Just great, cuz you know, I've only wanted to go to that for the past 3 freakin years. So now I have no plans for Friday. Fun.

Woodhaven Competition on Saturday. We perform at 7, and then awards are at 7:45. Kinda disappointed about that because the only band we get to watch is Woodhaven. Don't have any plans for after the Competition either, anyone wanna hang out if I'm not sick anymore? lol I'd love to actually do something other than band, so help me out here! lol

Me and my throat infection are gonna go make some more soup, since that's all I can eat for now, and go watch Can't Hardly Wait. I love that movie haha, so I'm excited.

So yeah I don't really have anything to say, I just felt like updating.

Rehearsal was pretty good last night. Pretty good compared to the way we've been rehearsing, that is. Clarinets were focused like whoa, it was SWEET! And hotter than hell yesterday. I don't know much, but I DO know that it should NOT be 85 degrees out in October, because that is just freakin crazy.

We had a test on Beowulf in English on Monday, and I thought I did pretty good. Checked Powerschool today and I definately only got 58/80. Yeah that's a C-. Great job, huh?

Still no new Math teacher since McMahon left. But we have a sub until we get a new one. Mr. Grogg = AWESOME! So that's okay lol, I don't mind. Whitney doesn't either.. lmao

So I need plans for Homecoming? As in, what to do before AND after the dance. Ashley wants me to go with them, so I might. Idk though. Can't make up my mind. I better get on that though, I only have like, less than 3 days to figure it out. Nothing like last minute lol.

Well I'm gonna go make something to eat and sit around and talk to people, so I'm done with this for a bit. Hopefully rehearsal goes better today! :)

I'm really bored.

And really tired.

EMU trip today was good. O'Connor got us excused from 7th hour, so I got to leave 45 minutes early. :) :) :) :)

I'm burnt as hell from tanning after school. I fell asleep and stayed in 6 minutes more than I wanted to. Way to go.

Some dumb kid in the hall today (when I got back from EMU) was looking at the trophy case by the cafeteria and he's like "What the fuck does the Marching Band get trophies for? They don't even do anything, it's so easy." Oh my god I went off on that kid, it was crazy. I was like "Excuse me? It's 'so easy'? If it's 'so easy' why do we practice 3 days a week for 3 and a half hours, music EVERY DAY in class, and then all day Saturdays before Competitions? Why do we go to a camp for a week and rehearse for up to 10 hours a day in weather ranging between 75-95 degrees? If it's 'SO EASY' why do we even practice at ALL? You know what? I would bet everything, everything I own, that you couldn't do it. EVERYTHING I OWN. Think about that, and then stop making ignorant fucking comments, because you don't know what the HELL you're talking about." And then I walked away and left him standing there. I hate dumb people.

So yeah I don't even fucking want to go to Homecoming anymore. It's fucking dumb to go without a date, and guess who doesn't have one? That's right. I wish I could take my dress back, but I can't. That's the only thing making me go. Seriously. I wish I wouldn't have bought that dress. I don't know what was so different about it that made me want to go so bad when I bought it. I have no date, no plans for anything, nothing. I can't even put into words how much I just don't want to go anymore. I have nothing to look forward to..

I hate being single.

Lamphere Competition today. Woohoo.

But FIRST let me say something about this morning. Kayla drops me off at the band room so I can run in and get my Clarinet and shako out of my bag, and someone started talking to me and I got distracted so I forgot my shako, but grabbed my Clarinet. I don't realize that I don't have it until 1 minute before practice starts, so I just left my mask in Kayla's trunk since my shako was in the band room. I was gonna get it but I figured Kmet would complain and yell at me for leaving rehearsal on a show day and all that, cuz that's just the way he is.

Well we do basics, warm up arcs, we go to the beginning of Tribal Dance and he starts yelling because apparently I wasn't the only one without my shako & mask. It was more like half the section and about 6 saxes and some random other people. He yells at everyone and tells them to go get theirs, and HEAVEN FORBID I'd take more than 5 seconds to leave cuz Alec came up and he's like "Karissa where's your shako?" and I'm like "It's in the bandroom, I just said that." and he's like "Well what the hell are you still standing here for? GO GET IT!" And I'm like "Fine whatever."

So I go get it and then I came back and had to find Kayla's keys, which I couldn't so I just used Gabie's mask cuz she couldn't march the show today. I get all ready, after about 5 minutes cuz my shako doesn't fit right when it's backwards cuz of my hair so I had to fix that like 40789692846246 times, and then I go back and Adam's like "What took so long?" I'm like "Don't even start with me." I was so ticked off at Kmet and Alec today, omg. Mandy Silvani said she even asked Kmet before practice if we needed our shakos and masks and he said no because we were gonna work on the Ballad. APPARENTLY NOT. Way to keep us informed, Kmet. So yeah, nice lil eventful morning.

Back to the actual competition. We got first. Yay. Best Marching & Music. But we got a 60... *insert sad face here* I guess it's not too bad though, we did go up 6 points... in TWO WEEKS! So that's about 27 hours of practice, two weeks, music everyday in class, and only improved by 6 points. COME ON PEOPLE! It's not that hard to be quiet and stand at parade rest. It's not! Really! Cuz I can do it, and you all know how I love to talk. So I think we all should give it a shot, hm? We could've gotten a way higher score today if everyone would've practiced like they meant it the past two weeks. It's not everyone that acts like that, but it's a lot of people. So I say we buckle down, shut up, and practice like we want to make it to States, cuz I sure as hell know everyone wants to go! I definately do. I know we can too, we proved that the past two years. So how bout it?

Yeah anyways other than that I had a good time at Lamphere. Hung out with some Hazel Park people. They're sweet. And that's about it for the competition.

Going to EMU tomorrow for some field trip. I went on it in 9th grade though so it's gonna be pretty boring, but hey it's a day off school so it's all good!

Yeah it's getting late and I'm tired as heck but I can't sleep. Go me. So I'm gonna go drink some more pop and eat some more chips, and that's all folks! haha.

So we had a Day Camp today. Or all day rehearsal. Doesn't really matter what you call it, we were still there from 8:30 to 6:00. It was decent, except for the fact that people wouldn't shut up.

We got a lot done though on the Closer. Like 16 sets. The last one we learned is so freakin awesome. Holy crap I am excited. And certain people in the section really can't march that good. I definately noticed that today. But of course Alec doesn't say anything to them. Go figure.

We did Concert on the Lawn at 3:00. That was stupid. Kinda. Everyone started fighting because of me. Way to go, right? lol

I'm going back to public for a while with this thing. I'm bored with Friends Only and no one really comments anymore, so I figured maybe people will comment more now. Even if they don't though that's okay I guess.

So I really really really really like this song I'm listening to. Pitiful by Blindside. It's sweet. I seriously can't get over how awesome it is. I've been in love with it since I first saw Grind, which also happens to be an awesome movie.. complete with ADAM BRODY!! So that's my interesting little fact for today haha. Anyways...

Friday at school was kinda boring. It went by really fast though. We're doing stuff in Math now that I understand.. SCORE! And I had to deliver like 623425371653523717352538 billion passes during 7th hour. Well not really that many, but you get the picture hehe.

I didn't go to Gabie's sectional after school because I figured they wouldn't do anything (like always) but once again she proved me wrong. I guess they worked on the chanting and stuff from Tribal Dance, and then just talked. Idk that's what I heard from someone (I forget who). Maybe if she works on drill (instead of just talking all the time) or music with the section , maybe I'll go. Lord knows we need it...

I went to the movies with Ashley Friday and finally got to see Red Eye. That movie is so awesome, I love it.

So competition Saturday. Trenton. We always do pretty good there for it being so early in the season. Well, not this year. We competed against Livonia Franklin, Taylor Kennedy, and Woodhaven. We got first, which is cool I guess but not really if you think about it. We scored a fricken 54. 54.95. We also got a timing penalty. 1.5. That was expected though because our show is like really short. Only like 5 minutes. We don't even have any of the closer yet (drill wise) so that's why. So back to our crappy score. Yeah I don't think our band has scored that low since freshman year: the ever so popular New World Symphony... *gag*. God I really hope we don't do that bad this year. That was just so horrible, I seriously can't even describe it. I remember when we got a 58 (our highest score that year) everyone was like "OMG THAT'S SO AWESOME!!" No, it's not. That's bad. Really bad...

But I guess I'll try and be optimistic. I did that last year and look at where we got: 4th place at States! Now that's awesome. I was so proud of us, it was unbelievable. I still am. And I still can't believe that we did that good. I really can't. People say we got lucky, but that's just ignorant. We didn't get lucky, we worked our asses off and got what we worked for. It sure as hell showed when we performed too. If you don't believe me, borrow the DVD from someone and take a look. I'd really like to do that good this year too, maybe even better, but that I'm not going to worry about because it most likely won't happen. But I'll be optimistic. I hope everyone else will too, and actually work harder. That would be sweet.

Enough about band. There will be plenty more of those all band updates (lol) so I'll save it all for them.

In Marketing today Mr. Fast was talking about DECA and how we should all join and stuff, and he wants me to join but idk what I want to do. I'm debating. Randy said I should because it's a lot of fun, and Mr. Fast kept saying that too. Idk though.

And I'd really like a date to Homecoming because going alone is just retarted. I've done that the past two years, it's not really that fun. I have a few people in mind but it's not going to happen, and the optimism isn't going to help me there lol, so that's out of the question. lol.

And me and Jimmy have been arguing a lot lately. He's been being a real jerk the past few days, and it's really getting on my nerves. He acts like nothing's wrong though, so whatever. I don't wanna get into that right now.

I saw the movie Taxi last night, and it is hilarious. Jimmy Fallon is really cute too!

Oh and HAPPY 17th BIRTHDAY MANDI!!!!! Even though it was yesterday.

This is getting on the ridiculously long side, so I'm gonna end this before I think of more things to ramble on about. :)

Hokay, so. It is really early (6:24 AM)and I'm really tired today so I'll make it quick.

Wednesday's practice SUCKED. Everyone fought. I made people cry. It was bad.

School's been okay I guess.

Last night's practice was good. We got our masks for Tribal Dance and we have to rehearse with our shakos on for the rest of the season. It is so hard to march with a fricken mask on. You can't see anything. I guess it's kinda cool though.

English quiz today. Oh boy oh boy! & no practice after school today!!! I get to rest! w00t!!

Trenton Competition tomorrow. That should be interesting. There's a big part of me that really really wants us to do good, and then there's another part of me that wants us to get last and get a really bad score, just so the people that don't care, start caring. It is so stupid to be in it (Marching Band) if you never try, or if you're always like "Yeah I don't want to be here." and all that crap. Danielle Cox all the way. So yeah idk how this will go, but hopefully decent.

Sorry I haven't updated in a while. Been kinda busy with band and stuff.

Last Friday's game was kinda fun. Kinda really boring. We lost. Went to Ashley's after and that was awesome. Met Mandy's ex boyfriend Tim and yeah he is really weird lol.

Saturday was a day camp. 8:30 to 6:00. Lunch from 12:00-1:00. I didn't even get up until 8:45. Idk why, I turned my alarm clock off in the middle of the night though. SO yeah I got there late but Kmet didn't care (w00t) and MIKE TARR was there! That guy is AWESOME!! He is SO fun! lol. It was hot out. I got burnt. Bad. Sat out for 45 minutes cuz I couldn't breathe. That was really bad. Everyone said it looked like I was going to pass out. I didn't though, isn't that just fantastic? lol. Nothing interesting after that practice.

Nothing Sunday. Or Monday. Except that Gabie is holding a sectional on Friday. WTF!? That's all I have to say about THAT.

Practice yesterday was kinda hot. Adam wasn't there. Alec either. Kinda boring without them there. But we got stuff done, people are pissed at me, the usual.. lol. Whatever though. Oh Clarinets... WHAT'S THE LUCKY NUMBER TODAY!?!? lmao.

Now I'm in Graphic Arts and I actually get to do something other than sit and stare at the wall! I'm shocked! lol. Well time to go play with Photoshop some more, I'll update when I get home if anything interesting happens later.

OMG I FORGOT! We got the Closer to our show yesterday!! And it is SWEET! We get to march at 172 and 186 at the end!! I am SO EXCITED! lol. I cannot WAIT!!!

First off, I looked at my friends page, and it's only like the same 3 people updating. I've already read those. You guys need to update more!! I need something to read when I get time to go online!! Okay now that that's out of the way, time for MY update!

My schedule got changed. I already put it in here though so you should have known that. It's still weird though. Mrs O'Connor put me in the wrong Graphic Arts class again. It's not wrong really, but it is for me. I'm in it 3rd & 4th hour. Should seem fine, but here's the problem: 2nd & 3rd hour is the Advanced Graphic Arts class, 4th & 5th is the regular Graphic Arts class. The Advanced GA people are going to be doing more stuff (obviously) since they're in the Advanced class, and I'm just gonna be stuck in there, with no idea what to do. Mr. Martin said that 4th hour is when he explains everything and what to do, and 5th hour is when you actually do it. So since I'm in 3rd & 4th, I'm going to not know what to do for an hour, and then go find out what to do the next hour, which will cause me to be behind. Fantastic! Why Mrs O'Connor put me in 3rd & 4th, I have no idea. But it's wrong and I need to go talk to her to see if she will fix it for me. I really don't like walking into the class halfway through and then leaving halfway through the other class. It's just weird. I definately don't like it. THANK YOU Mrs. O'Connor!! </sarcasm>

All of my other classes are good. English is fun already. Just a heads up, this kid Steve Golick is in my class, and he is HOT! Thought I should let you know. hehe. Aren't I just fricken hilarious? HA. We got our books today and they're f-in heavy as hell & they're not even that big. I need to bring a backpack cuz I am not carrying that around all the time. Nope, no way. We took notes yesterday and Druchniak went so fast it was crazy. I only got like, 3/4 of them. That's alright though, I'll just get used to it.

Marketing was decent. Dustin's in my class, so I'm excited cuz it's someone I know. And Peter Torres (totally can't spell) and Megan Sharkey. She's fricken awesome. I haven't had a class with her since 10th grade so it's gonna be sweet. You have no idea.

Then Graphic Arts which is right now. It's nice and cool in here, unlike Marketing.

Band next. WOOHOO. Nothing else to say about that.

Lunch after that, and Garland is actually checking for the Senior lunch passes thing, since we're the only ones allowed to leave. Sorry Juniors/Sophomores! I almost though I lost mine when we went out yesterday. It was scary lol. I was like "CRAP where's my lunch pass?!" It was there though. Went to Wendy's. Pigged out. Nothing new.

Math after that. We played games and stuff. Then did like 6 problems. I kinda understand it. That's pretty pathetic that I don't, but whatever. I need to know it because I need to pass to graduate. So I'm gonna need to ask for help or something. That or I'm screwed. And Jimmy is in my class now so that's sweet. And Megan something from band. And Kyle. And Whitney. And Denise's brother lol. Stephanie Meekins too. Woo fricken hoo. I'm glad there's people I know.

Well Mrs. O'Connor just called Mr. Martin and told him to send me down for my schedule, so I'm gonna go see what that's all about. I'll update later before the football game or after the Day Camp tomorrow.
